meerrr.

I am really excited for summer to start. It is only a week away and it feels like an eternity. There are finals that I need to study for and final projects I need to finish. I am really anxious and I can’t wait for all the stress to be gone. I couldn’t get much studying in this weekend since I worked all weekend long. I should’ve taken off but I had forgotten all about finals. But when all of this is over all I will do is enjoy my time off and relax. Hopefully I won’t forget what I learned throughout the semester. I have a lot of plans for this summer especially since my sister is finally coming from California. I have missed her like crazy. It is true when people say you don’t know what you have until you lose it. I hadn’t really put much thought of what I would do without my sister until she left to live in California for a year. I’m so happy she’s coming home. There’s this feeling of completeness that I have when I think about her being home. My sister is younger than I am and she was the one to move away from home. I am really upset however that I won’t get to see her right away because I have to work. But as soon as I’m done I’m speeding home to see her and my cousin. We have planned to go to six flags which is something I am looking forward to do. When we were in California during the summer we went to the six flags there and now we are going to the one in Illinois. I am a huge fan of roller coasters. They give off such an adrenaline rush, which I enjoy. There is also a camping trip which I plan to go on. I haven’t been camping in such a long time that it is a must. There has to be marshmallows or else it’s not considered camping. Although I can’t have that many since I honestly don’t like candy as much as I used when I was younger. Hopefully I’ll get to go to Wisconsin Dells as well because I haven’t been there since I was in maybe eighth grade. There are also a lot of lazy things to do like sit around the trampoline and talk. The little things that we will all do together are what we will most likely remember the most. Even if it is just to take a walk to the park people should enjoy their time off, especially after a long and stressful semester.

chances (:

I had gone to Chicago a couple weekends ago with the schools art club. The trip went well. We all got to go to some contemporary museums as well as a couple art schools. The group got along well and we befriended each other right away. After the trip we decided to hang out again on our own terms. Most of us have busy lives, especially with finals coming upon us. We all made some time this Saturday to socialize. We made reservations at the local restaurant in Sheboygan called Kiku’s. It is a Japanese steakhouse.
We met at round eight and waited for the rest of the people to show up. Most of us had gotten there from work, including myself. Only two of the six people had eaten there before. Since most of us hadn’t been there before we had no idea what to expect. We waited anxiously to be seated. We were seated around a rectangular shaped table with a grill in the middle and we were handed the menus. The meals on there were incredibly difficult to understand. I had no idea what to even visualize what the meals would look like. I went with something simple and ordered a Hibachi shrimp. A chef came and started making conversation with all of us. He would speak some words in Spanish and mainly sing and making random chants while getting the grill ready. He made each meal right in front of us. He would toss things in the air and make mini volcanos with stacks of onions. It was really a big show and I was impressed. I had so much fun watching him make our dinner. We all laughed and made jokes along with the chef. It was definitely a night to remember.
It is amazing how a group of strangers become friends over a simple school trip. This all just comes from taking chances and not being scared of trying new things or meeting new people. I’m not sure why I spent so much of my time in high school hanging out with people I was comfortable around just because they looked like me. Sure you become great friends with some of those people, but if you don’t open up to new people you might miss out on some pretty amazing people. People who could eventually become a great part of your life.

Week off.

Why is it that when summer is near the days seem as though they are never ending. Classes are coming to an end. Finals are right around the corner. There is so much to do. There is last minute homework to be done, as well as projects, and studying.

It seems as though there isn’t enough time to get all of the assignments done. No matter how hard I try to get assignments done with time it seems as though I don’t have enough. Time just flies. Not because I’m having fun of course, but because sometimes it’s so much work it gets a little time consuming. There are other things going on in life other than school. For example, work. Work takes up so much of our time that sometimes it leaves us drained of energy to even stay up and finish homework assignments.

Then when summer is near the days seem to be long and tedious. We all wait impatiently for the end of the semester to be over but the days drag on and on. We can’t wait to be out and about with our friends and family at the park or at the malls. There is so much to be done; from going to six flags, to shopping at the malls in Milwaukee, and even going camping. There are many activities that await us.

First however there are finals to get through. We have to study for classes and write essays as well. There is so much to do to be able to enjoy the summer. That is if you are not taking summer courses.

I think that there should be for every class a week off right before finals so that students are allowed sufficient time to study. This wouldn’t be like a spring break where students go off and party every night although there is always a possibility they will. This week is meant to be reserved a week before finals so that students can study or catch up on a class. This way they are not focused on going to class as much and more focused on each class.

music

Music is great. It is at times exactly what you need to hear when theres nothing anyone can say to make sense of things. Sometimes songs have lyrics that just speak to you. Like if they were made for you at that moment to mold to your feelings. They might not make things better but you at least get the sense that someone somewhere wrote that song knowing exactly what your going through. I'm so glad whoever wrote some of the songs I listen to when I'm feeling happy as well as hopeless. Songs not only very from genre but from moods. Most of the genres include love songs as well as angry songs and just good old dancing songs to get your butt off that chair.

I love it when your just driving your car alone and all of a sudden a great song goes on and you just start singing along while people are driving past you and giving you a weird look. I always stop singing when there are people around but if its a sunny day i like to put on my shades and then I sing along even when people think I'm crazy because it probably looks like I'm talking to myself. I figure the shades are enough to hide my face haha. I guess the ride is better when your with your group of friends listening to a great song and singing along. Then you definetly don't mind if people stare and think your crazy.

I think music is great and should be free. I shouldn't have to pay .99 cents to about 2.99 online to download a song onto my ipod. There are a million plus songs and there are only more coming. How can we all possibly afford all of those great songs we like to hear if we have to buy each one. Isn't it enough we pay our internet bill it's already high as it is. And to think about it .99 cents may not seem like a lot but if you multiply .99 cents by about 400 which is about how many songs most people have on their ipod or listening device the dollars add up quickly. Thats about two weeks wage for an average minumal job.

Most Americans can't afford to pay that kind of money on music. There are some websites that allow you to download music for free but thats a felony. Although many don't get caught it is however like stealing and is wrong. Therefore the price of a song should  be reduced. I'm not saying .01 cent but something reasonable like .45 cents. It would be a little less than half of what it is now. Then there would be less piracy of music and people could listen to those great songs when there not on the radio. Or when your in your car and driving around wanting to feel a little crazy.

something to do.

Here in Sheboygan there isn't much to do. The things that there are to do can get a little old at times. For example, if you would like to hang out with friends and have a nice time you could go bowling or watch a movie at the theater. But those things are a little more expensive than what they used to be. Then there's the mall. At the mall you could walk around the entire mall in three minutes and see all the little shops they have. The thing is there aren't many stores at the mall. The stores that the mall has aren't very appealing to young people like college students. There should be more things here in Sheboygan for us young adults in college so that we can have some time to have fun and relax when were not busy writing essays and calculating a math problem.

They should open up a few more stores at the mall that target young adults. They should also open up down town a few more places where young adults can just go to hang out and relax outside of school and work. Maybe a mini golf with a couple bating cages and laser tag. Like how they used to have at Triple Play. I have no idea why they closed it down but they should probably either open it up agian or making a new one. During the winter people can go to Blue Harbor and swim and go on the water slides but those kinds of things are a little expensive. There should be a community water park or pool for people to go during the warm weather taht opens up during those warm days.

There should also be more activities for young adults that are non-school related. This way people could meet new people as well as have fun with friends that they already have. Either way more things should be opened up to allow a variety to Sheboygan. This way it allows for more jobs. Jobs for young adults such as high school kids who need a part time job to earn some cash on the side. By opening more things it could attract people from the outside cities into ours. This would increase the economy as well as the excitement around here. I'm just a little tired of doing the same old things and having to pay so much for them.

sleep

Sometimes there aren't enough hours in a day to do the things that are needed to be done. Other times theres too little to do that taking your time is still not enough to waste the time. We all have busy schedules however with work and school to do we barely have enough time to just relax and hang out with our friends.

Theres so much to do and I need sleep to be able to function. I'm very upset the clock went forward an hour because it meant I would get one less hour of sleep and rest. Indeed I did get a less hour of sleep. I almost got late to work because of my phone. I put my alarm at 8:30 am which I did wake up but i figured I could get another hour of sleep since I was starting work at 11:00. Then I put my alarm at 9:35 am to get another hour of sleep and my at 10:35 am so I would know when to leave for work.

Everything was going great I was resting and having a good sleep. Until my alarm went off at 10:35. It turns out that my phone hadn't yet changed the hours and that it wasn't 9:35 anymore. Why in the world would my phone company change the time at that time shouldn't it had been changed at midnight like normal phone companies.

I had to quickly get dressed and leave on an empty stomach. I drove as fast as I could going a little over speed limit. I luckily got there with 3 minutes to spare which isn't so bad for being asleep only a few minutes before. Throughout the day my stomach was growling and I couldn't do my job right I kept messing up my speech because I was still a little on edge for being a little off time.

Hopefully I will get to work on time next weekend. And hopefully my phone company will have changed my phones time before I'm late again and by midnight. Then I shall have a good nights rest and sleep to be able to function well at work as well as school. Especially for my geography class which is very long and at times kinda boring. So I will definitely need more sleep.

traveling -_-

People should travel out of state on a real vacation at least once in their life. By a real vacation I mean to sight see a different place unfamiliar to the person. Yes this does exclude Oostburg for all of you that haven’t been out of Sheboygan. There are so many opportunities to grow and learn. There are also so many different places to go that it would most likely be a tough decision to choose where to go, unless of course you have a specific type of climate and atmosphere in mind. For example, somewhere warm and kid friendly you could then go to Florida or California to either the Disney world or Disneyland. Then that would probably narrow your search. Like I said there are so many different places to go see and learn about. I myself am intrigued to sight see a place a place I have in mind is Spain. Spain is really big on soccer which is great for me since I’m a huge soccer fan. Spain also has such beautiful buildings and the antic house architectures are also very beautiful to see. Their culture is very different compared to ours in many ways. I would enjoy spending time there and getting to know some of their customs. In some parts of the world people eat three huge meals throughout the day and savor lunch the most since most shops are closed due to a family setting type of lunch. Families sit down for an hour or two and enjoy a big meal together laughing and talking about their day. Anywhere you go outside of the States would most likely have a different culture, customs, and beliefs. Even though you might not agree with them they are interesting to learn about as well as observe. You may even be surprised about the things you might see. Some might say there is no time or money to do such a trip. I think there is always time as well as money you just have to be open about trying new things. Maybe instead of spending the spring break partying and getting drunk you could instead take a trip.  It would be great ideas to save some money on little things such as gum or chips maybe even save the money you were going to spend on watching the latest movie at the theater. Those small choices go a long way. The small change builds up and before you know it you have your savings for a trip to a different place. You would be amazed of the things you could see. It would be like taking a fresh breath of air in a new place. There would be no work, no drama, and no homework. There would be just the amazing new place ahead. There would however be a difficulty in communicating with others that are native to the place unless the trip is somewhere in the States. I am sure there are a variety of accommodations that could be made to be able to communicate with others. Some for example could be traveling to a place where they have English speakers another could be having a booklet of the words to use in the other language that translate the words.  Another difficulty would be having a place to stay as well as a transportation to get from point A to point B. In many place of the world they have hostels that are very inexpensive. They are usually located somewhere in the downtown area where they are easy to locate. They also are more of a stay at night type of places not like hotels where you might spend an entire day there. So for example say you just need a place to leave the heavy luggage then you would leave your belongings at the hostel and sight see the entire day and that way you don’t have to carry any of it. Then at night you just go and sleep and in the morning go out and sight see more. As for transportation there are usually buses or taxis in most places if not then walking is usually a way to go. There might be buildings to see or museums to look around in. After experiencing a trip to a different place you might think differently about the way you live or even live life a little differently. In the end it would be a great experience even to just have something to remember, as well as something to learn from the new or different place. Maybe by going on the trip it would change your mind about things and you could become a little more open minded about things. If not hopefully the trip was just something fun and exciting to do. Hopefully on your trip you take a camera whether it be digital or disposable the memories are sure to last a lifetime.
